  Histories » Slide Show		William and Ellen William Delahoy and Ellen Casey were married at St John's Church South Adelaide on 6 Mar 1851. Their first born, John William, was born on 1 Aug 1852 in the District of Murray, South Australia (appears to be an area east of Adelaide) and died of pneumonia five months later on 15 Jan 1853.
  		William Delahoy William represents the beginning of the first of at least two lines of Australian Delahoys. His father, Isaac Delahoy was born in 1797 in Sutton St Nicholas (Longsutton) and married Susannah (family name unknown) on 18 Jul 1821 in Sutton Lincolnshire. He was a shoemaker by trade. William was born in 1829 in Longsutton Lincoln, the fourth of eight children.
  		The Emigration Tree Charts the family relationships between the various family members who emigrated from England to Australia, Canada and the USA. According to this, Susannah & Mary Ann are Charles' aunties and William's second cousin. Charles is William's second cousin, once removed.
  		Pleasant Creek - A Short History The original settlement of Stawell was at Pleasant Creek and consisted of Cooper, Longfield, Leslie, Burgh Streets running east west and Austin, Griffiths, Seaby and Foster Streets running north south, according to a map of the area dated 1858.

  49/19 Cheapside 10 Oct 1849 evidence suggests the Cheapside departed London 6 July 1849 and travelled via Plymouth (http://www.perthdps.com/shipping/) From: http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/australia/cheapside1849.shtml The passenger list lists William Delahoy, 20 years old, occupation Agr. Labourer, birth place Lincoln. On the original "House of Delahoy" publication, it said 2 males died in infancy between Emma and William and I later had information from the Mormon Centre at a Genealogy seminar said I was reading it wrong and there was only one male died in infancy and may not have been named. -Ian- died 18 April 1870 Livingston Creek, Omeo. "ulceration of the stomach and bowel, 14 days" Landsborough School records would suggest the birth dates for William and Ellen's children are different to those listed here.
