  Mary Ann Brodie Infor from JR Francis: Prior to her marriage to John in 1870, Mary had one son : James Brodie. His birth certificate does not show his father's name and the 1871 census lists him as being illegitimate. However he was raised under the name of John Brodie Wright and is shown on the ship's passenger list by that name. It would appear that Mary herself was illegimate. 1870 Occupation Flax mill worker
