HUSBAND - John Wright John Wright arrived in WA 21 Jan 1887 per Hampshire with his wife and 5 children. (Source: Dictionary of Western Australians 1829-1914 Volume 4, Part 2, L-Z) Info from JR Francis: John was an unemployed tailor at the time of his marriage and he and Mary lived in a cottage at the rear of 43 Frederick Street, St Nicholas in Aberdeen. From the number of people living at 43 Frederick Street (some 28 in all) it would appear that it was either a large boarding house or some ohter type of housing complex. Five children were born to John and Mary in Scotland. There have been no details found concerning Agnus, she was however named on the ships passenger list as travelling with her parents. John worked as a tailor in the Fremantle area after arriving in WA. On his marriage certificate his profession is noted as a Tailor (Journeyman). A Journeyman was any person who has fully served their apprenticeship in a trade or craft and is a qaulified worker in anothers employ. 165	Mary Ann Brodie Infor from JR Francis: Prior to her marriage to John in 1870, Mary had one son : James Brodie. His birth certificate does not show his father's name and the 1871 census lists him as being illegitimate. However he was raised under the name of John Brodie Wright and is shown on the ship's passenger list by that name. 169	My copy of the Elgin passenger list is not so clear. Ellen's age could be 15 or 16. If she was 16, then her year of birth is wrong. If she was 15, her birth date would be after 14 Feb 1834 and before 31 May 1834 ( based on Elgin shipping date and information obtained from her marriage certificate to Henry Holdsworth). The following are records pertaining to those with the name "Casey" found in County Tyrone Ireland, with special attention to those in the parish of Clonfeacle in Moy. Marriages 13 May 1827 Marriage of James Casey and Elizabeth Pillar at Clonfeacle Church. I have a small update you may like to add, My grandad Logan Richard Laloli died last June, and is now buried with grandma at Papatoetoe memorial Gardens. 174	No details have been found about Agnes, however she was named on the ship's passenger list as travelling with her parents. I have done some more searching re Agnes Wright & received D.& M certificates for her. Her full name was Agnes Fraser Wright & appears she was born Scotland circa 1882, and she married on 15/7/1907 in Perth to a Hay MARSHALL, ( son of Alexander Marshall and Jeannie Crawford HAY ) he was also born Scotland circa 1877. Hay Marshall died at age 65 on 19/ 11/ 1942 in Subiaco, W.A. and is buried at Karrakatta. Agnes died at age 79 on 28/ 7/ 1961 in Perth and is buried at Karrakatta with her husband. It appears they only had the one child, Heather J. Marshall and she was born circa 1924 and was still alive in 1961, have so far not found out any more about her. 175	No further information found, thought to have died somewhere in the outback N.S.W. while droving. He died on or about 18 December 1887 three miles north of Broken Hill, they thought he was about 27 and the cause of death was "strangulation, self inflicted". This means he was found hanged. He was buried in Broken Hill Cemetery in 1887. This death certificate incorrectly shows his name as Walter Delahoy but in fact it was William as Walter went on to have 7 children. 182	Owner of the Delahoy Brothers Dairy and grocery store. Isaac, his wife Elizabeth and three daughters died 19 May 1918 in a German bombing raid. 193	ref: b#21232 d#3964 ran the post office and farmed at Werrimul George, the son of William and Ellen (nee Casey) Delahoy married Ellen Eldridge and ran the butcher shop down the road from the Exchange Hotel in Great Western at the time that his mother and Henry Holdsworth ran the hotel. Sometime around 1880 or so he moved on to run the Lascelles Hotel and then the Hindmarsh Hotel at Japarit. The Menzies family ran a business next door and George and Ellen's kids often played with the Menzies kids. One of those Menzies kids, Robert, eventually became Prime Minister of Australia. While running the hotel at Japarit, George was building a butcher shop at Rainbow, a town about 30 km north. Shortly before the shop was due to open for business, in 1907, George's mother died and George and family relocated back to Great Western to take over the Exchange Hotel. The Japarit museum contains the accounts book for the local store where George had an account. The final entry is dated 7 Dec 1907 paid in full. The ensuing years were evidently very successful. The hotel was a waypoint for the Cobb & Co service and George, an experienced horseman, looked after the Cobb & Co horses. One night during an electrical storm while George was reshoeing a horse, a bolt of lightning spooked the horse and George was kicked hard in the chest. He never recovered and was forced to retire from active working life. George and Ellen sold the hotel and reportedly walked away with over 10,000 pounds. The family moved to Woomelang where George opened a bakery. However, he became increasingly infirmed and eventually died in 1913. Ellen subsequently moved the family ever further north over the years and finally found a home in Werrimull.	DELAHOY, George (I216)
